Course objectives
The aim of the subject is an advanced insight into the problem of metabolic disorders of diabetes mellitus following the knowledge from the bachelor degree with an emphasis on specialized nutrition (etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, prevention, nutritional procedures and measures during intensified insulin therapy, nutritional adjustment to the state and treatment of disease, age and physical activity, counseling and collaboration with a diabetes nurse). The course will focus on the specifics of pediatric diabetology and specific issues in diabetology from the perspective of a dietitian - diabetic in surgical treatment, diabetes mellitus and obesity, surgical treatment of obesity in a patient with diabetes mellitus. An essential part of the training is communication with a patient with diabetes, based on the acquired knowledge, the student does not forget the psychological, pedagogical and social side, which is directly related to the specifics of education of diabetic patients.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain the physiological and pathophysiological basis of diabetes mellitus forming a group of diseases of different etiology common denominator - hyperglycemia, disease conditional absolute lack of of insulin or relative deficiency in its reduced efficiency. The student on the basis of acquired knowledge does not forget even psychological, educational and social aspects that directly relate primarily to the education of patients.

Course objectives
The aim of the subject is an advanced insight into the problem of metabolic disorders of diabetes mellitus following the knowledge from the bachelor degree with an emphasis on specialized nutrition (etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, prevention, nutritional procedures and measures during intensified insulin therapy, nutritional adjustment to the state and treatment of disease, age and physical activity, counseling and collaboration with a diabetes nurse). The course will focus on the specifics of pediatric diabetology and specific issues in diabetology from the perspective of a dietitian - diabetic in surgical treatment, diabetes mellitus and obesity, surgical treatment of obesity in a patient with diabetes mellitus. An essential part of the training is communication with a patient with diabetes, based on the acquired knowledge, the student does not forget the psychological, pedagogical and social side, which is directly related to the specifics of education of diabetic patients.
Learning outcomes

Course objectives
The aim of the subject is an advanced insight into the problem of metabolic disorders of diabetes mellitus following the knowledge from the bachelor degree with an emphasis on specialized nutrition (etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, prevention, nutritional procedures and measures during intensified insulin therapy, nutritional adjustment to the state and treatment of disease, age and physical activity, counseling and collaboration with a diabetes nurse). The course will focus on the specifics of pediatric diabetology and specific issues in diabetology from the perspective of a dietitian - diabetic in surgical treatment, diabetes mellitus and obesity, surgical treatment of obesity in a patient with diabetes mellitus. An essential part of the training is communication with a patient with diabetes, based on the acquired knowledge, the student does not forget the psychological, pedagogical and social side, which is directly related to the specifics of education of diabetic patients.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain the physiological and pathophysiological basis of diabetes mellitus forming a group of diseases of different etiology common denominator - hyperglycemia, disease conditional absolute lack of of insulin or relative deficiency in its reduced efficiency. The student on the basis of acquired knowledge does not forget even psychological, educational and social aspects that directly relate primarily to the education of patients.
