Course objectives
This newly introduced subject focuses on overview exercising of substantial problems from the point of view of anatomist, embryologist, physiologist, pathological physiologist, pathologist, microbiologist, immunologist and finally, corresponding clinician. Using this approach we will conceptually approach closer to strategy of USMLE, Step 1.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- to link the pathophysiology of the individual subtypes of diabetes mellitus to the clinical presentation of the disease, including the occurrence of possible complications and subsequent treatment of diabetes.
- to propose diagnostic and therapeutic options for the treatment of diabetes mellitus.
- Apply pathophysiological principles in clinical manifestations of atherosclerosis.
- to propose diagnostic and therapeutic options for ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular accident and ischemic disease of the lower limbs.
- to apply pathophysiological principles of autoimmune, hypersensitive and autoimmune diseases in clinical practice.
- to frame the basic diagnostic and therapeutic options for the above mentioned diseases.
- to understand the pathophysiological nature of septic condition and to focus on the clinical manifestation of sepsis with regard to the basic possibilities of diagnosis and treatment.
