This Course is open to the students of English programme General Medicine as well to the Erasmus students. No further prerequisites are needed.

Course objectives
At the end of the course, students should be able to understand basics of system of law and basics of single legal branches. Legal problems in health care are discussed in-depth.
Learning outcomes
The studnets will undersdand - Rights of a patient - Rights of a physician/healthcare professional - Be acquainted with the healthcare funding - Cross border provision of health services - Patient privacy and health data

  • Health care law – sources, public health insurance, subjects of public health insurance and their duties, health insurance funds, patients rights, medical liability, confidentiality, protection of privacy, detention, health care professions, health care administration, self-government in health care Employment law – sources, labour code – structure, subjects of labour law, trade unions – basic information, content of labour relationship, health protection, liability, special labour conditions for specific categories of employees, remuneration

Teaching methods
5 bloc seminars. Attendance of all of them is strongly recommended, 1 absence is tolerated.
Assessment methods
Group work and presentation at the final seminar. Alternative - test for students who failed to meet the attendance requirement.
