Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit the aim of the course is to practice the knowledge gained in the lecture and the independent study: basic word-forming concepts, word-formation system and its structure, basic word-forming methods and procedures.
Learning outcomes
The student controls the derivation of nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs; composition of nouns and adjectives; shortening; marginal ways of creating words. Students will acquire the ability to break the word based on a specified algorithm (including formula expression), determine its inclusion into the word-making system, and assess productivity.

  • 1. Formation of words in verbal communication. 2. Formation of words as linguistic discipline. 3. Basic word-forming terminology. 4. Word-forming system. 5. Forming of basic word forms. 6. Word-forming development tendencies form the position of onomastic methods in contemporary vocabulary. 7. Word forming and school.

Teaching methods
A seminar, active analytical students´ work in the analysis of Czech texts, active synthetic students´ work in the interpretation of linguistic phenomena, discussion about the professional course issues.
Assessment methods
For a successful completion of the course, the students should a seminar paper should be submitted – a language analysis of the selected section of an Czech text.

Information on completion of the course: Podmínkou pro ukončení předmětu zkouškou je složení zkoušky z předmětu CJ2BP_JMor a zápočtu z předmětu CJ2BP_JLex. Součástí zkoušky je i obsah předmětu CJ2BP_JLex.Zkouška je písemná a ústní.
