- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the activities of perception – hearing and listening. Particular attention is made to learn basic means of music expression that help to understand communication through music, including music form and a selection of songs suitable for specific age groups.
- Syllabus
- 1. Improvisation – rhythmical, melodic and movement to the music. 2. Perceptual activities: hearing and listening activities. 3. Means of expression of music: rhythm, tempo, dynamics, melody, harmony and timbre. 4. Stories set to music. 5. Activities based on Music theory in Preschool Education. 6. A project aimed at developing music skills of preschool children using vocal, rhythmical and instrumental activities, plus listening and musical movement in connection with other educational areas/subjects (Czech language, Literature and Drama, Art, etc). Plus its implementation during the teaching practice.

- Practical preparation: singing – monophonic song, canon – accompaniment them on musical instruments for children; conducting. Playing the piano and soprano recorder. Preparing a project with the usage of integrative elements and focusing on the development of creative abilities of preschool children. Students should also make their teaching portfolio for music activities within Preschool Education.
- Assessment methods
- Type of teaching: seminar Completion: examination a) For the final test, students will show their theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired in the subject Musical activities 3 to 5. The final examination will be Oral for the theoretical part and there will also be a practical test (such as singing, conduction, playing piano and/or soprano recorder, etc). b) 30 folk songs, 6 songs from Ladislav Němec and 6 artificial songs: singing, playing the piano – transposing folk songs up to major second, conducting, optional accompaniment for songs – rhythmical, instrumental or kinaesthetic element. c) Mastering the basics of playing the soprano recorder (15 folk songs, 8 songs arranged for beginners (h1, a1, g1, c2, d2)). d) Completion of the final project using integrative elements and focusing on the development of creative skills of preschool children. e) Creation of a teaching portfolio for Music activities within Preschool Education. f) A minimum of 80% active participation in seminars.

- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the activities of perception - hearing and listening. Particular attention is made to learn basic means of music expression that help to understand communication through music including music form and a selection of songs suitable for specific age groups.

- At the end of the program the student is able to use the music game to connect with other educational areas. Music game form the basis of music education especially for children preschool age. The feature of the period for the development of skills. Their effects are the initiation of cognitive functions , leading to the development of creative thinking, emotionality, to elementar development expression in the context of the music sounding, for the development of communicative skills. Music in the game connection with literary texts and artistic expression forms the basis of the concept integrativ education.

- Elementary musical creativity Reference area: - manifestations of child musical creativity (melody and intonation of speech, imitating sounds, ..) - spoken word and singing speech in connection with rhythmic variations implemented through the game on the body, the basic element of movement -literary work with the draft with a focus on culture of the spoken word and links to art expression, movement, sounding music - game music and its importance for the natural and spontaneous manifestation of the child, for the development of musical imagination and the imagination, a musical memory - musically creative thinking
