Course objectives
The aim of the course is to enhance skills and knowledge of Russian phonetics and grammar, to improve reading comprehension, to advance listening skills and understanding of oral and written expression. Another goal is to expand vocabulary and to practice spelling and grammar by means of gap-filling and translation exercises.
By the end of the course, students will improve their language and communication skills, they will be able to understand Russian authentic texts and recordings, they will be able to make dialogues and monologues on given topics.

Seminars - course of practical Russian. Regular preparаtion for classes, homework, listening and reading Russian texts. Working alone/working in groups.
Assessment methods
The course ends with a written credit, which tests the knowledge of the whole semester's grammar and vocabulary. The test must be passed with 75%.

Information on the extent and intensity of the course: v kombinovaném studiu 24 hodin.

Learning outcomes of the course unit The course is focused on developing the knowledge and skills acquired in the practical language course 1, which is reading and listening comprehension, improving the oral and written expression in Russian, improving Russian pronunciation and spelling. Compulsory attendance at seminars. Attendance is recorded. Absence must be substantiated by proper excuse. It is recommended to enrol in the courses Language Seminar 2 (1028) and Conversational Exercises 2 (1036), the content of which is an extension of the basic conversational topics of the compulsory course Practical Language Exercises 2 and their application in practice with the main emphasis on the development of dialogical and monological speech.

Compulsory attendance at seminars. Attendance is recorded. Absence must be substantiated by proper excuse. Course of practical Russian. Regular preparаtion for classes, homework, listening and reading Russian texts.
Assessment methods
The exam consists of written and oral parts. After a successful completion of the written part, students are allowed to take part in the oral test, which includes:
- conversation with the teacher
- discussion of a Russian book that the student had to choose and read for the test (80 - 100 pages);
- discussion of a Russian movie that the student had to choose and watch for the test.
Students have to create a glossary of new words from the book they selected and bring it to the oral part of the test. (min. 50 words).

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to enhance skills and knowledge of Russian phonetics and grammar, to improve reading comprehension, to advance listening skills and understanding of oral and written expression. Another goal is to expand vocabulary and to practice spelling and grammar by means of gap-filling and translation exercises.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will improve their communication skills, they will be able to understand Russian authentic texts and recordings, they will be able to make dialogues and monologues on given topics.
Syllabus
  • 1 – 2. Family, relatives. Family matters. Construction уметь+ infinitive. Declension of nouns of the type “школа, неделя” (feminine gender, singular).
  • 3 – 4. Leisure time. Relaxations methods. Season of the year. Construction нужно, надо, придется + infinitive in the present, past and future. Declension of nouns of the types “завод, автомобиль, слово, воскресенье” (masculine, singular).
  • 5 – 6. Nutrition. My favorite food. Dinning in the restaurant. Construction У меня есть in the past and future. Conjugation of the verbs of the type “говорить”. Counting objects.
  • 7 – 8. Transportation. Public transport. How can I get to? Infinitive-clauses question. Motion verbs. Ordinal numerals.
  • 9 – 10. Traveling by plane, train, bus, car. Business trip. Consonant mutation in the stem. Conjugation of verbs - summary. Declension of nouns of feminine gender ending on a soft consonant, singular.
  • 11 – 12. Telephone Calls. Practicing Russian fixed expressions. Indefinite pronouns and adverbs. Declension of nouns and adjectives in the plural. Revision.
