Course objectives
The course is focused on acquiring basic communicative skills through dialogue, discussions and debates in the conversation topics. A fundamental component of the course is to improve speaking a phonetic, lexical and grammatical. Students concurrently develop their language skills in listening and reading Russian texts. Writing is regularly practiced and reviewed in a number of partial scripts. The main task is to mastery the students ability to separate oral and written expression.
Syllabus
  • 1 to 2 Human features. Adjectives. Relative and interrogative pronouns. Short forms of adjectives. 3 to 4 Clothing. Fashion. Adverbial present and past. Declension of pronouns весь. 5 to 6 Traffic signs. Driving a car. Traffic accidents. Adjectives verbal person. Adjectives passive verb. 7 to 8 At the post office. In the bank. The clutch. Являться - linking verb. Infinitive in Russian and Czech. Use of prepositions. 9 to 10 Russian Federation: geography, state system. State power president. Inflection surname. 11 to 12 Russian holidays and traditions. Inflection generic numerals. Fractions and decimals. Repetition.

Teaching methods
Regular activ participation in the class. Listening in russian language. Reading russian texts and correct pronunciation.
Assessment methods
Exam. Exam - writting test and oral discission (russian language). Discussion with the teacher will be held. The discussion will be based on the topics from the course, the reading (Russian book - 180- 200 p., the student will bring and show the book), and listening (audio, video, DVD). The student will also provide a vocabulary exercise book, which will contain at least sixty new words. Evaluated for grammatical accuracy, content and use of vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation structure. During the semester, each student prepares an interesting information on the current issue of the Russian press.
