Course objectives
Development of the attitude of society towards physically disabled, main representatives, system of education, integration of physically disabled, counselling, long term ill, classification of physical dysfunctions, classification of cerebral palsy, degenerative diseases, deformation, ADD/ ADHD, specifics of work, comprehensive rehabilitation, seniors and disability.
Syllabus
  • Studying areas: 1. The development of the society towards physically disabled and ill people. 2. Creating and development of somatopaedia, main representatives (Jedlička, Bartoš, Chlup, Kábele) 3. The current situation in education of physically disabled (rehabilitation units, special pre-school education, special schools elementary and grammar schools). 4. Integration of physically disabled to main stream schools, law 5. System of counselling in the Czech Republic (IPPP, SPC, PPP, SVP). 6. Organisation of hospital schools (content and organisation of education, studying plans, curriculum, and books). 7. Consideration and tasks of hospital schools, evaluation, classification. 8. Characteristic of chronically ill (heart diseases, respiratory system, allergy, disorders of metabolism, tumour diseases, skin diseases). 9. Epilepsy. 10. Specifics of work with chronically ill. 11. Classification of physical dysfunctions. 12. Central and peripheral paresis, characteristic of the most often disorders by children. 13. Central and peripheral paresis, characteristic of the most often diseases by adults (Sclerosis multiplex, Parkinsons disease, cerebral heredoataxy, embolism, Friedrichs heredoataxy). 14. Cerebral palsy, aetiology, forms of CP, psycho-motor development. 15. Poliomyelitis, aetiology, consequences. 16. Deformations, classification, characteristic of particular deformations. 17. Back diseases scoliosis, kyfosis, characteristics, care. 18. Perthess disease, aetiology, consequences, care. 19. Degenerative disorders of body (arthritis, tuberculosis of bones, arthritis, Bechtìrevova disease, necrosis. 20. Muscular dystrophy (myopathy), aetiology, consequences, care. 21. Specifics of work with physically disabled. 22. ADD/ ADHD, psycho-motor development. 23. Social physical and social aspects of physical dysfunction. 24. Comprehensive rehabilitation, perspectives and trends. 25. Seniors and disability (possibilities of care).
