- Course objectives
- Students learn the information about communication of visually impaired, history of Braille and about teaching and training of Braille. They learn to read and write Braille on a Braillewriter and with a stylus and slate.
- Syllabus
- 1. Communication of people with visual impairment. Speech disorders in visually impaired.
- 2. History and development of writing of blind persons
- 3. Braille, Czech Braille chart, Braille code, aids for learning and writing Braille, teaching Braille by children and adults
- 4. Writing on Braillwriter
- 5. Writing with a stylus and slate
- 6. Visual and tactual reading of Braille

- Teaching methods
- lectures, class discussion, practical excercises in reading and writing Braille
- Assessment methods
- Lectures are organised practical - students learn to write Braille on a Braillewriter and a slate activelly; reading Braille visually and tactually. The credit is gained when writing and reading Braille. Attendance of lectures is essencial.
