Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
evaluate the processing of the selected topic in different textbooks of the Natural History
build a simple dichotomous key
create a collection and exhibition of natural resources
create a thematic plan for teaching zoology
propose a didactic elaboration of a particular topic from the Natural History
develop a design of a field exercise or excursion
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- evaluate the processing of a particular topic in the Natural History textbook;
- to assemble a tool for determining nature;
- create a collection of natural resources;
- orientate in a geological map;
- didactically elaborate the topic of a particular Natural History lesson ;
- plane effectively the teaching of Natural History;
- design teaching in the field.
Syllabus
  • Syllabus of exercises (topics are designed for 4-hour blocks):
  • 1) Didactics of botany: processing of botanical knowledge in contemporary textbooks, analysis and evaluation of selected botanical themes in textbooks
  • 2) Didactics of the botany: types of determination aids in botany and work with them, creation of a simple dichotomic key
  • 3) Didactics of botany: professional journals and their use in teaching, collection and exhibition of natural resources
  • 4) Didactics of zoology: analysis and evaluation of invertebrates processing in textbook textbooks including evaluation in individual ecosystems
  • 5) Didactics of zoology: analysis and evaluation of vertebrate processing in textbook textbooks including evaluation in individual ecosystems
  • 6) Didactics of zoology: Presentation of the results of the evaluation of textbooks in the natural sciences Creation of a thematic plan for the teaching of zoological education
  • 7) Didactics of anthropology: didactic processing of topics: human prenatal development, postnatal human development, skeletal and muscular system
  • 8) Didactics of anthropology: didactic processing of circulatory, respiratory, digestive and excretory systems
  • 9) Didactics of anthropology: didactic processing of skin, nervous, sensory and sexual themes
  • 10) Didactics of geology: information sources with geological theme, work with geological map, evaluation of selected topics from inanimate nature in textbooks
  • 11) Didactics of geology: didactic processing of selected mineralogical subject, didactic processing of selected petrographic theme
  • 12) Didactics of geology: Didactic processing of selected theme from the history of the Earth, design of field exercises and excursions from inanimate nature

Teaching methods
Teaching forms: mass-frontal. group-homogenous, group-differentiated. Teaching methods: explanation, description, dialogue, discussion, work with worksheets, work with text, observation, experiment.
Assessment methods
Assessment methods: Written seminar work, presentation. Fulfilling requirements: - active participation in exercises (1 absence is tolerated) - design of a geological excursion / terrain exercise - creating a plan for teaching zoology - presentation of the selected topic of human biology
