Course objectives
The students shall acquire fundamental knowledge of general information of language, of phonetics and phonology. Cultivation of correct pronounciation, orthopy, correct connection of speech sounds, accent, sound means of sentential segmentation and pronountiation of loanwords will be stressed. Orthography. Language, strates of language, norm, codification, language formation. Phonetics and phonology – classification and articulation of speech sounds, correct pronounciation. Relation between speech and lettering. Orthography.

  • 1. Fundamentals knowledge on language. Language and speech. 2. Phonetics, phonology (fundamental notions). 3. Charakter of Czech speech sounds. 4. Sound and graphic aspects of speech. 5. Orthoepy, norm of correct pronounciation. Orthophony. 6. Czech orthography. Explanation of orthographical phenomena. 7. Language handbooks. Usány of language handbooks.
