- V přednášce budou charakterizovány hlavní vývojové rysy poklasické latiny s přechodem do raných fází románských jazyků (italština, francouzština, španělština)s využitím poznatků o tzv. vulgární latině. Pozornost bude věnována jak hláskoslovným změnám, tak transformaci deklinačních a konjugačních systémů, ale i přeměnám, zvl. sémantickým přesunům v oblasti slovní zásoby.

- Course objectives
- The course deals with the characteristics of evolutionary lines of Late Latin, with the reference to the evolution of the Romance languages (mainly Italian, Spanish and French). A particular attention will be given to the fenomena related to the so called Vulgar Latin. The introduction to the problems and larger context will be followed by a systematic exposition of the development in Vulgar and Late Latin. Subsequently, it will be dealt with phonetics, system of declension and conjugation, syntax and lexicon.

- Introduction. Definition of terms Vulgar Latin and Late Latin. Romanization and Romance languages. Changes in the vocalic system. Changes in the consonantal system. Nominal system. Development of declension. Comparison of adjectives. Changes in pronouns, formation of the article. Verbal system. Grammaticalization. Emergence of new forms. Changes in the expression of pasive. Changes in syntax. Lexicon.
