Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce the topic of intergenerational learning in the context of lifelong learning, pointing to new models of family behavior which result from external and internal conditions of the functioning of families (higher age of parents at first birth of their child, inclination to lesser number of children in the family, preference to unmarried relationship of parents leading to decline of matrimony, growing number of two generation families, diminishing impact of grandparents and with this associated intergenerational transmission).

  • 1. Basic insight into the problematics of intergenerational learning and its context. 2. Lifelong and lifewide education and learning 3. Formal, informal, non-formal learning and education 4. Changes of a family in modern society (transformation of generational structure of the family, generational cohabitation, ...) 5. Basic concepts related to intergenerational learning, history of the research of intergenerational learning 6. Intergenerational learning in the family 7. Intergenerational programs 8. Intergenerational learning in non-formal learning courses 9. Intergenerational learning in a Roma family 10. Intergenerational learning between mother and daughter 11. Seniors and intergenerational learning 12. Presentation of given seminary task, group work and discussion 13. Presentation of given seminary task, group work and discussion

Assessment methods
The course is organized as a lecture and seminar. Conditions for the successful completion are as follows: 1. Five minute presentation during the term - information relating to carried research related to topic of a lesson (on the basis of an agreement with the teachers). 2. Individual preparation and submission of a seminar task.
