Course objectives
The course will introduce to students the basic aspects of social communication with the effective communicational skills (including listening) and modern rhetoric principles demands. The content of the course is, above all, the choice of the appropriate verbal and nonverbal means of communication, the style and structure of the speech, the adaptation to the listener and dealing with effective argumentation. Students will also know the basics of the visual presentations preparation and how to overcome nervousness.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will be able:
- to understand the role of effective speaking and presenting skills
- to explain the main principles of the social communication
- to show the main factors and principles of the effective communication
- to theoretically show the possibilities of the communicative and structural realization of presentation skills
- to use the skills from the practical skills training
