  • 1. Introduction. Def. of style and stylistics 2. The language of religion and political speech. Role of prosody. 3. Functional styles: scientific and technical English. Synopses. 4. Administrative style. Letters, instructions. 5. Legal documents 6. The language of media (journalese). Newspapers 7. The language of media. Advertising. 8. Narrative structure (in a short narrative). 9. Dialogic structure in prose. 10. Style in popular fiction 11. Ideologies and Metalanguages: the language of criticism. 12. As there is a whole range of them, they may be well complementing each other and thus enable you to contribute creatively to the discussion in the class.
