Účel (a) - cíle (b) - metoda (c) (a) sledování melodických a intervalových zákonitostí v prostoru cca 1620-1750 (b) typologie, preferované postupy - vztah k textu - (hudebně) rétorické figury (Figurae Musicae, Figurenlehre; viz MGG, Grove) (c) komparace - ohled na latentní (zprvu) a zjevnou harmonii
