Course objectives
The course will present the biographies of the most important historians of German (later Sudeten-German) historiography in Bohemia and the Czechoslovak Republic from the end of the 19th century to 1945. The discussion of their scientific texts should lead the students to an analysis and comparison and to an understanding of various trends while also regarding the historical context and foreign scientific influences. The institutions of Sudeten-German historiography will also be covered. Active knowledge of the German language is prerequisite. 2h.
