At the end of this course, students will be able to: understand basic theories of mass communication;
describe the key developments in media history;
explain the structure and dynamics of the media and cultural industries;
critically analyze and interpret media messages;
formulate a reasoned argument for the public interest in media communication;

Teaching methods
Lectures (two hours per week); within the lectures a combination of teacher-led activities and class discussions will be employed; Also week-by-week reading is recommended.
Assessment methods
Requests to undergo: Written examination evaluated according reached score. Examination demonstrates degree of insight into the concepts and familiarity with the recommended literature.
