INDEPENDANT COURSE FROM THE AUTUMN SEMESTR, reserved primarily for 1RST YEAR students. Conversation topics choosen by students or their teacher. Student should be able to understand any text as well as short records in French. Grammar and theme analysis of text in french. Essential points of grammar; vocabulary developpement; oral expression; comprehension exercices; reading and commenting of literary and newspaper texts. Listening exercices.

Course objectives
To develop oral understanding and expression and interaction in a communication situation.

Interact in various oral communication situations.

Teaching methods
Mainly listening and speaking forms. Practice of grammatical phenomena and lexical exercises will be discussed during lectures. Active participation in the course (only 2 missings are accepted)

Participation on class discussions and all written homeworks are requested.
Assessment methods
Credit: is obtained for attendance and active participation in the course (min. 80 %) and after successfully completing a final test (success rate 50 %) where students prove their capability to connect theoretical knowledge with the analysis and interpretation of daily topics. Personal conversation on a selected theme.
