Course objectives
The course of film criticism is based on contemporary audiovisual production. We practice various genres of critical writing related to the everyday praxis of mass media. The student hand in an article about a first-run-movie every week, usually from the current Czech production; texts are analysed and classified from filmological, journalistic and linguistic aspects as well as in accordance with articulation of their critical gesture and argumentation.
At the end of the course students should be able to articulate their critical opinions in various genres of critical writing; they will get informations about their dispositions for activities of film criticism.
