- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to learn to read, analyze and interpret texts of older Czech literature (approx. 1400-1800). The selection of texts will take into account both the developmental aspect (literature of the Middle Ages, humanism and Baroque), as well as a wide range of genres and functional aspects. Most of the texts are selected on the basis of the list of primary literature of the course Older Czech Literature, therefore the seminar is a suitable addition to the preparation for the reading discussion.
- Learning outcomes
- After the completion of the course, the student will be able:
understand the meaning of texts of older literature;
- analyze and interpret selected texts of older Czech literature
- understand the broader cultural-historical context;
- search in databases (both primary and secondary sources). - Syllabus
