Course objectives
Aim of the lecture and exercises is assumption skill bent on searching of the scientific information in biology and basic rules for writing special text leadership to writing high-quality diploma work both in contentual and also in formal page technicality. Part of course will be focus on basis of rhetoric and correct lecturing in science that the students will try out also practically like a preparation of defence of diploma thesis.

Course objectives
Aim of the lecture and exercises is assumption skill bent on searching of the scientific information in biology and basic rules for writing special text leadership to writing high-quality diploma work both in contentual and also in formal page technicality. Part of course will be focus on basis of rhetoric and correct lecturing in science that the students will try out also practically like a preparation of defence of diploma thesis.
Syllabus
  • 1) Oral presentation of diploma work - basis of rhetoric (technique of presentation, speech of body, management of stage-fright) sort of oral presentation, structure of lecture statement for the defence: preparation, aim, outline, structure and division- instruments for the presentation - blackboard, overhead projector, data/video projektor thinning - examination of the presentation, timeout, intelligibility, most frequent mistakes - preparation before lecture (ready on everything) - lecture, most frequent mistakes discussion 2) Written form presentation diploma work (DW) contentual part of DW (literary resources and their processing) - formal part DW (structure, text processing) - processing and interpretation of gained results, tables, schemes, graphs, photographs, appendixes - most frequent mistakes in separate of parts DP (materials and methods, results, discussion, citation in text, in Literature) - final adjustment - decalogue rules mistakes analysis in choice DW 3) Poster - structure, preparation, presentation, mistakes Grant application sorts of grants, structure, most frequent mistakes - practical exercises lecture: presentation of own lecture and group evaluation evaluation of choisen lectures in department seminář, evaluation of choisen diploma work.

Cílem přednášky a cvičení je osvojení si dovedností zaměřených na vyhledávání odborných informací v biologii a základních pravidel pro psaní odborného textu vedoucích k sepsání kvalitní diplomové práce jak po obsahové, tak i formální stránce. Součástí kurzu budou také základy rétoriky a správného přednášení ve vědě, které si studenti vyzkouší také prakticky jako přípravu na obhajobu diplomové práce.

At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- search of the scientific information in biology
- understand and apply basic rules for writing special text
- elaborate high-quality diploma thesis both in contentual and also in formal page technicality
- formulate questions and answers and argue in scientific discussions within the field of molecular biology and genetics
- evaluate lectures of other lecturers, judge of quality lecture
- use the basic of rhetoric and correct lecturing in science

Course objectives
Aim of the lecture and exercises is assumption skill bent on searching of the scientific information in biology and basic rules for writing special text leadership to writing high-quality diploma work both in contentual and also in formal page technicality. Part of course will be focus on basis of rhetoric and correct lecturing in science that the students will try out also practically like a preparation of defence of diploma thesis.
Syllabus
  • 1) Oral presentation of diploma work - basis of rhetoric (technique of presentation, speech of body, management of stage-fright) sort of oral presentation, structure of lecture statement for the defence: preparation, aim, outline, structure and division- instruments for the presentation - blackboard, overhead projector, data/video projektor thinning - examination of the presentation, timeout, intelligibility, most frequent mistakes - preparation before lecture (ready on everything) - lecture, most frequent mistakes discussion 2) Written form presentation diploma work (DW) contentual part of DW (literary resources and their processing) - formal part DW (structure, text processing) - processing and interpretation of gained results, tables, schemes, graphs, photographs, appendixes - most frequent mistakes in separate of parts DP (materials and methods, results, discussion, citation in text, in Literature) - final adjustment - decalogue rules mistakes analysis in choice DW 3) Poster - structure, preparation, presentation, mistakes Grant application sorts of grants, structure, most frequent mistakes - practical exercises lecture: presentation of own lecture and group evaluation evaluation of choisen lectures in department seminář, evaluation of choisen diploma work.
