Course objectives
The main goal of the course is to get knowledge dealing with approaches used in treatment of archaeological material as well to acquaint students with development of modern techniques used in last decades in the process of protection of cultural heritage. Students will be acquainted with individual material groups and treatment in field as well as in laboratory.

  • 1. Basic terms in archaeology and conservation-restoration 2. Conservation of archaeological ceramics 3. Conservation of archaeological glass 4. Conservation of stone and other building materials in archaeology 5. Conservation of non-ferrous metals in archaeology 6. Conservation of precious metals in archaeology 7. Conservation of archaeological iron 8. Conservation of leather from archaeological findings 9. Conservation of wood saturated with water in archaelogy 10. Conservation of the organic material in archaeology 11. Packaging material used for archaeological findings 12. Depozitory régime of archaeological findings
