- Course objectives
- This course is focused on providing a comprehensive overview of digital competencies and technologies. It includes a basic understanding of digital skills, legal issues associated with digital technologies, various didactic tools for teaching and learning, skills needed for effective use of office applications, techniques for visualization and presentation of information, effective information search and processing, and current topics such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
The aim is to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for effective use of the digital world. - Learning outcomes
- After successfully completing this course, students will be able to navigate and work with a wide range of current digital tools. These tools can be utilized not only within their teaching profession (for example, students in teaching fields), where they can use them for educational purposes, but also in their personal, student, or scientific lives.
The development of digital competence will enable them to effectively use technology, which is key for navigating today's interconnected digitalized world. Whether it's creating presentations, working with office applications, searching for information, or understanding cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, students will be equipped with skills that will help them be confident and successful in the digital environment. - Syllabus
- Introduction to digital competencies is focused on a basic understanding of digital skills and their importance.
- Legal aspects deal with legal issues associated with digital technologies and the internet.
- Didactic tools focus on various tools and techniques that can be used for teaching and self-education.
- Office tools cover skills needed for effective use of office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Mind maps and Poster creation and presentation focus on visualization and presentation of information.
- Source searching and Effective reading are focused on effective information search and processing.
- AI and Cybersecurity deal with current topics such as artificial intelligence and security in the digital world.
- Teaching methods
- The teaching of this course is organized so that it takes place every week and lasts for two hours. These weekly sessions are held in a multimedia classroom, which is a space equipped with the latest technologies that support interactive and effective learning. This teaching format allows students to regularly meet, discuss, and collaborate on various projects and tasks while becoming familiar with different digital tools and technologies.Each weekly session is designed to provide students with enough time to understand and practice new concepts and skills.
Consultations can take place in person by arrangement during face-to-face teaching times, or if necessary, online via MS Teams.
If the time of the face-to-face group does not suit you, individual arrangements can be made and the course can be completed in a different way. If you have any questions, please contact the course instructors by email. - Assessment methods
- As part of this course, students are required to submit final assignments. These assignments are designed so that students can begin working on the final tasks during the seminars.
