Course objectives
Statistical methods and its importance for data processing in the geography and other sciences. Principal terms. Graphical processing of geographical phenomena. Frequency distribution and its graphical presentation. Fundamental characteristics of the samples. Theoretical distributions and their construction. Estimation of parent population parameters. Testing of hypothesis. Variance analysis. Assessment of dependence of qualitative and quantitative signs - correlation and regression, contingence tables. Cluster analysis. Time series, their classification and basic characteristics. Selected methods of time series analysis in the geography (harmonic analysis, autocorrelation).
