Course objectives
student will be familiar with biology and ecology of freshwater macroinvertebrates with respect to the fauna of freshwaters of the Czech Republic especially in these topics: reproduction and ontogeny; food biology; movement; respiration; distribution and habitat preferences of the respective groups and their notable species
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: - present key taxonomical groups of aquatic macroinvertebrates according their taxomonical classification and namely their biology as well, including typical representatives of each group - sumarise ecological preferences and demands of presented macroinvertebrate groups - describe life cycles including different reproduction strategies and specific developmental stages - relate gathered knowledge about species biology to its bioindication potential and potential threats
