Course objectives
Various types of generalized inverses (generalized inverse, reflexive generalized inverse, Moore-Penrose inverse, generalized inverse of symmetric matrices, QR decomposition. Method of the least squares for a system of linear equations. The sym- metric problem of eigenvalues (decompositions, QR algorithm). Nonsymmetric problem of eigenvalues (properties and decompositions, Hessenberg and real Schur forms, power matrices). Lancz method. Matrix functions {Lagrange-Sylvester interpolation polynomial, the values of a function on the spectrum of a matrix, the fundamental formula for the value of function in a matrix, the matrix series, some formulas).
