Course objectives
The major aim of the course is to overcome students' fear of the command line. In the course we will focus on basic operations and data manipulation in R. After the completing of the course, students ought to be eager to work in R and able to carry out all data operations necessary for data analysis and graphical presentation. This course is a suitable prerequisite for follow-up classes devoted to data analysis (Bi7920 Analysis of biological data and Bi7550 Practical Analysis of Biological Data – Seminar) and graphical presentation (Bi8190 Visualization of biological data) per se, and ought to allow students to be fully concentrated on the classes' topics and not to blunder about in the R script.
