The knowledge of German at B1 level (CEFR) - German for specific purposes
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
B1 level (CEFR) - German for specific purposes Main objective can be summarized as follows:
. students should be able to use the skills practised in the first two semesters
. use the language for producing the bachelor´s thesis
Learning outcomes
Students: 1. will be able to communicate in everyday situations 2. will be able to work with authentic specialised text 3. will be able to understand audible information from everyday situations 4. will be able to write letter, application, CV 5. improve grammar knowledge with the focus on specialised terminology
Syllabus
  • 1. Written part: Academic part (academic grammar, matching, word forming, definitions) Specialized text - dictionary can be used (understanding the text: main idea, true or false statements, synonyms) Writing a letter (applying for scholarship, asking about the conditions for studying etc.) 2. Oral part: Information about the field of study
Literature
  • Přehled literatury - viz informace učitele
  • The survey of recommended literature - see the teacher' s information
Teaching methods
B1 exam consists of written (grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension) and oral part (academic and everyday topics - dialogue)
Assessment methods
The exam consists of written and oral part. The condition for a successful finishing of the test is getting at least 45 points out of 70.
