Course objectives
Objective of the course: - identify the role of the educator; - to identify the needs of the eductor in the educational process; - provide education in the framework of provided nursing care. The course will provide knowledge of   pedagogy and adult education so that students are able to understand the theoretical knowledge of     pedagogy and could use this knowledge in   part of its educational activities of u ~ clients, family and colleagues. Students will be actively involved in the educational process and will have the opportunity to practice their knowledge and skills in the context of   model situations. When teaching will be used in disciplinary relationships.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: - use the adult learning principles in their work; - to focus on the issue of educating patients in intensive care settings; - identify the needs of the eductor; - identify barriers in the educational process; - to respect the specific needs of the educators with regard to the diagnosis, stage of illness, age, disability, etc.; - to design and develop plans for patient education, family members and other persons; - to prepare educational materials.
Syllabus
  • Education of patients and other persons. Specifics of education of children, seniors, foreigners and special groups of patients. The personality of the educator. Educational process - evaluation and assessment of educator, evaluation of educational needs. Designing of education, educational objectives, didactic principles, didactic forms, educational methods, teaching aids and didactic technique. Compilation of educational plans taking into account the specifics of intensive care. Implementation and evaluation of the educational process in conditions of intensive medicine. Documentation in the educational process. Educational materials. Health literacy, compliance, adherence.

Conditions of course completion: - active participation of students in the classroom; - presentation of a video focused on education in the field of intensive care medicine, including the processing of information material (details will be communicated in the lessons, instructions are inserted in the IS MU - study materials) - the subject is completed by an exam.
