Course objectives
The main aim of this course is to introduce students essentials of psychological research. During this course students are taught how to conduct psychological research and how to review research reports.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
a. propose and conduct a psychological research project;
b. formulate research goals, research questions and hypotheses;
c. choose appropriate research design;
d. choose appropriate sampling method and data collection method;
e. work with scientific literature according to standards;
f. write research report.
Syllabus
  • The course is organized as a series of biweekly topics which include lectures, seminars, homework and required reading.

Teaching methods
Lectures; Team work on research project; Feedback on projects; Discussion at seminars.
Assessment methods
Assessment of the final research project (40 p);
Two multiple-choice tests (15 p);
Final written exam (20 p);

Seminars are obligatory (5 form 6). Multiple-choice tests contain theoretical questions. Final exam contain applied questions based on short research report.

To pass the course, student needs to meet all deadlines, finish both multiple-choice tests, get at least 20 p. form the project, at least 10 p. from the final exam and at least 35 p. together.

Grades:
A (63 and more), B (62 – 56), C (55 – 49), D (48 – 42), E (41 – 35), F (34 and less).
