Course objectives
At the end of the course students be able to:
1. define basic structure of plant and animal cell;
2. identify and name of plant and animal tissue;
3. describe anatomy and morphology of root, stem, leaf, flower, see and fruit; describe and know animal organs
4. interpret flower formula;
5. prepare and survey plant and animal material; 6. to understand and explain basic knowledge about problematics of general zoology; 7. to understand and explain structure and funtion of the animal cell; 8. to understand and explain recognize particular characteristic tissues and organs; 9. to understand and explain demonstrate acquirement of skills necessary during work with microscope; 10. to understand and explain skills necessary for drawing record; 11. to understand and explain creating generally positive attempt to autopsy studies is very important too.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to: - to use the correct professional botanical terminology and to select concepts and phenomena corresponding to the level of elementary school pupils; - to select and use in modeling model organisms to document selected concepts and phenomena related to botany; - to work with the plant material and to process it in the form of didactic means for the needs of primary education; - explain the links between morphology and the function of the animal cell; - explain the basics of histology, including the essence of histogenesis; - explain the basics of animal reproduction issues; - explain the basics of animal embryology and ontogenesis.
Syllabus
  • Observations:
  • 1.Structure of plant cell. Plant tissue. Premanent tissue. Conducting tissue, xylem, phloem.
  • 2. Morphology of stalk, branching, buds. Morphology of leaf. Metamorphoses.
  • 3. Structure of flower. Inflorescence. Structure and morphology of fruit.
  • 4. Observation and drawing of permanent microscopical preparations – types of epitethelium according shape of cells and number of layers, and kinds of epitethelium according funtion
  • 5 Observation and drawing of permanent microscopical preparations of fibrous, cartilaginous and bone tissues
  • 6. Observation and drawing of permanent microscopical preparations of leucocytes – human (or cat) blood and observation and drawing of permanent microscopical preparations of muscle and neural tissues
