Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Main objective of the course is to provide the ERASMUS students initial experience with the Czech schools and help them with orientation in current Czech educational system.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to: - understand and explain relationships between teacher and pupils. - use the information concerning the education for personal professional motivation; - understand the system of Czech elementary education; - interpret information learned on basis of observation in primary schools; - understand the basic terminology of the subject - present reasonable arguments within the boundaries of the subject and within interdisciplinary subjects - apply new knowledge and skills in practice
Syllabus
  • • 1. Familiarization with everyday school reality, teachers, courses (rules, specification, customs, rituals) basic school documentation, teacher's diaries . • 2. Special portfolios: piece of knowledge, inquest, experimental news and next documentation. Hospitalization entry. • 3. School organisation and management. Team cooperation and leadershship. • 4. Current challenges of Czech schools. Perceptions from practice.

Teaching methods
- practical preparation in the form of classroom observations at schools or other institutions with an emphasis on the development of the competences of a future teacher - analyses of students´s observations
Assessment methods
- submission of a lesson observation diary created by the student during his/her teaching practice, - presentation of student´s observation diary, - discussion about student´s own observations at elementary schools credit
