Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are the following:
- To define basic statistical concepts;
- To code data to electronical form;
- To determine measures of central tendency and measures of variability;
- To use statistical methods;
Syllabus
  • 1. The basic statistical concepts. The elementary evaluation of data. Statistical set and unit.
  • 2. The measures of central tendency (mean, median, modus) and measures of variability (range, variance, standard deviation).
  • 3. Normal distribution, probability, correlation analysis.

Teaching methods
Theoretical preparation in the form of a lecture with independent study of specialized sources.
Assessment methods
Two short tests during the semester, written final test, which will contain theoretical and practical tasks. For the successful passing a minimum is 50 % correct answers.
