Course objectives
The main aim of the course is to acquaint students with the character and behaviour of European Union as a global actor in the historical development and with its current position in international relations. The course is divided into three thematic parts. In the first one, students will be introduced to historical, theoretical and institutional principles of EU's functioning in the international scene. In the second part, students will be acquainted with all the European policies, in which EU is acting as a global force. EU relations with other global actors ,as well as some further problems and aspects, will be discussed in the last part of the course.

Common Foreign and Security Policy, European Security and Defence Policy 5. Enlargement, Neighbourhood Policy, models of regional cooperation 6. Development policy 7. Policy of human rights protection, external dimension of environment protection 8. Mid-semester test 9. Coordination of European policies, European diplomacy and identity, conflict prevention, humanitarian policy. 10. European Union and the Middle East, European Union and Africa 11. Transatlantic relations. 12. European Union and Latin America, European Union and Asia 13.Final test
