- Course objectives
- The course's main objective is to develop speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills at upper-intermediate level. The basic study material is the coursebook Outcomes Upper-Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials. Throughout the semester students are encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice at schools via practical tasks.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students should be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the upper-intermediate level, and communicate in the language fluently.
- Syllabus
- The basic study material is the coursebook Outcomes UPPER- INTERMEDIATE (Student's book and Workbook), see Literature below. The syllabus includes Units 1- 4, the focus is on speaking and listening activities and the development of students' vocabulary.

- Maximum number of points per semester: 100 Pass mark: 70 (part of this sum is also the final written test, students must obtain at least 70% for this final test - if not: two resits of the final test are offered) Written test: 40 points Oral test: 30 points, Progress test: 10 points. Other types of continuous assessment: 20 points

- In the course, the use of AI is permitted for learning but not for cheating. It is acceptable to use AI for brainstorming ideas, basic proofreading, and suggestions for improvement. It is unacceptable to have a text generated, translated, or reformulated. Remember to acknowledge all innovative ideas that are not yours. For generated ideas, use in-text citations. At the end of each assignment, state how you worked/did not work with AI. When in doubt, consult your teacher.
