Syllabus
  • 1) The neuro-, bio- and psychology of eye-movements (30 min?)
  • 2) The experimental design (1 hour)
  • 3) The hardware (45 min)
  • 4) Setting up an eye-tracker (45 min)
  • 5) Event detection (60 min)
  • 6) AOIs (45 min)
  • 7) Scanpaths and heat maps (60 min)
  • 8) Recording with auxiliary data (30 min)
  • 9) How to convert a vague idea into an eye-movement study (1 hour) - before the lecture each student must hand in their idea of what project to run in maximum 100 words. Includes experimental design and measure selection.
  • 10) How to practically record data with an eye-tracker; practical handson work at an eye tracker; maybe remote + tower + glasses (2 hours)

Teaching methods
Every lecture is followed by a seminar where students present a paper from a methods perspective. I would like to know the interests that students have at least 1 week before the course, so I can find papers that I want them to review that also interest them.
