Learning outcomes
After completing the course the students will be able to: - match a problem or expression from the history of ontology to a philosopher, historical era and other philosophical nexus. - identify a problem emerging from discussion on ontological questions; explain systematically (not only historically) the major explicative tendencies in ontology.
Syllabus
  • The overview of the main types and particular fashions of ontological concepts from the Antique till today. The main accent is given to the changes of the understanding of key traditional ontological categories (the time, the space, the movement, the being, the universe) and their progressive confluence with the natural problems. The critique of stationary and anthropological understanding to ontology.
