Course objectives
The main goal of this subject is to provide practical skills in mechanotherapy especially focused on practice in reflexology. First it´s important arts superficial and deep palpation. On the other hand it´s important a practical differentiation of each soft tissue level and its examination.
This practical course goes hand in hand with theoretical course Physical therapy II.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student is able to:
1. to practice selected massage strokes of reflex therapy
2. to discuss about the selection of selected massage strokes
3. to assess the current state of the locomotive system
4. to identify the appropriate type of massage with regard to goals
5. to evaluate the athlete's status based on the subjective and objective parameters before and after the application of the selected type massage
Syllabus
  • Segment technque. Search reflective changes (apsection, palpation).
  • Touches: Pusched spiral, with two thumbs, among processi spinosi.
  • Touches: Saw touch, sliding vibration, intermitent pull down.
  • Edges shoulder-blade massage. M. trapezius massage. Under the shoulder-blade massage.
  • Intercostal muscles massage. M. supraspinatus and infraspinatus massage. Vibration of the whole back.
  • Trapezoidal touch. Neck muscles massage. Linea nuchae terminalis massage.
  • Forehead massage. Cranial arch massage. Masáž klenby lební. Swab from the brow ridges to shoulder girdle.
  • Search back reflective changes. Reflexology of the back - group A.
  • Search back reflective changes. Reflexology of the back - group B.
  • Search head and neck reflective changes. Reflexology of the head and neck - group A.
  • Search head and neck reflective changes. Reflexology of the head and neck - group B.
  • Search thoracic reflective changes. Reflexology of the thorax.
