- Course objectives
- The subject of the course is focused on the basic methods of listening activities and musical kinaesthetic activities. To understand musical communication, the means of musical expression that students acquire in connection with the song, the dance, elements of movement and the listening of the selected compositions.
- Learning outcomes
- Student:
- focuses on the issue of elementary creative musical activities; recognizes types of improvisation and can apply them in practice, as well as elements of elementary composition;
- focuses on musical-kinaesthetic activities; • can apply motion and dance games in practice; • has a methodical approach to the training of dancing elements and can use them in working with song and elementary piano composition; • can apply the motion element in connection with rhythm, nursery rhymes, while working with literary text;
- acquires music listening skills; they are able to use them in practice while working with songs or listening to compositions; he/she are able to use basic musical expressions and can use them while working with songs, in connection with dance components, playing musical instruments and/or listening to music. - Syllabus
- 1. Musical kinaesthetic activities: expressive means of motion – elementary movement and dance element (folk dance, polka, menuet, mazurka, waltz, historical dances – in connection with song and listening composition).
- 2. Improvisation – rhythmical, melodical and by moving/dancing to music.
- 3. Perceptive activities – listening activities: listening objectives, musical means of expression – “musical speech”, types of listening, methodology of listening – interconnection with vocal, instrumental and musical activities.

- Teaching methods
- Practical training: singing, accompaniment to elementary music instruments, body play, elementary kinaesthetic elements and dance steps, conducting. Playing the piano/violin. The student is focused on the issues of listening activities; the student has mastered methodological approach in practice and can use dance elements in practice. Writing a lesson preparation for a Music class. Work on the subject of teaching portfolio for Music.

Examination requirements:
a) Students will show their theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired in the Didactics of Music for Primary Education 1 and 2. There will be an Oral part for the Theory of Didactics of Music 1 and 2. There will also be a practical part (such as singing, conducting, playing piano/violin and recorder, etc.): 6 folk songs (2 of them in polyphonic arrangement), two artificial/popular songs, round, spiritual/work song and four songs from music history (for 2nd Educational level): singing, playing the piano/violin; transposing two folk songs up to major third; conducting.
b) For two songs to elaborate a detailed methodological procedure for subsequent work with the song – rhythmical, instrumental accompaniment or kinaesthetic element.
c) A handmade musical instrument made of recyclable, residual and natural materials.
d) Elaboration of a PowerPoint presentation for a specified period of music history with the recommended listening task – worksheet.
e) Creation of a teaching portfolio for Music Education.
f) A minimum of 80% active participation in seminars. - Language of instruction
