Public Policy and Human Resources
Public Policy and Human Resources (specialization Social Policy and Labour Market Policy) – students transferred to a new program

Study Information

Information for transferred students
This register template is for students that are transferred to new study program during their ongoing studies. Students who are transferred to a new PUP program register courses since academic year 2019/2020 with new 8 digit codes (e.g. PUPn4468 instead of old PUP468). However, when students repeat the course due to fail in academic year 2018/2019 they have to (= MUST) register the course with an old code (e.g. PUP468). Courses with new and old codes are otherwise equal alternatives when counted towards completion of the study (e.g. in control templates).

When you have questions about transfer of your study, please do not hesitate to contact our transfer adviser Mrs. Zelenková, who will help you. Contact: Room 5.57 (5th floor), e-mail: 143806@mail.muni.cz.

Public Policy and Human Resources

(specialization Social Policy and Labour Market Policy)

The study program in Public Policy and Human Resources (specialization Social policy and Labour Market Policy) is designed as a full-time graduate Master’s study program. It is offered to students who have already gained an undergraduate degree in the fields of humanities, social sciences, public policy, social policy, social work, public administration, public economics, political science or other related fields. The standard duration of the Master’s program is four semesters.

Students are required to pass 92 ECTS for mandatory courses (from which 12 ECTS are related to their master thesis). Rest of study credits (28 ECTS) can student get for passing other courses offered in the PUPHR program or courses offered in other English study programs at School of Social Studies (FSS, Masaryk University).

To earn the diploma, students must obtain 120 ECTS credits for coursework, successfully complete a thesis and pass a final examination.

The state examination for the PSPHR master's degree program takes place each semester and has two components: 1. defence of the diploma thesis, and 2. a written test of the ability to write an expert analysis on a chosen theme.
The standard length of the basic text of the master’s diploma work (without footnotes, explanations or annexes) must be between 18,000 and 22,000 words (144,000 to 162,000 characters including spaces).

Written examination of the ability to draw up an expert evaluation on a given topic. The task of the student is to write a report (expert evaluation) within a time limit.

Instructions for the completion of the diploma thesis and for the final state examination are available on the website of the department.

Graduates of all PSPHR specializations may apply for (upon the condition of passing an entrance exam) a post-graduate program of Social Policy and Social Work, which is taught at FSS MU (Department of SPSW), or for other post-graduate programs in the Czech Republic and abroad.
