  • Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of doctoral program find application in science and research in the biomedical field, more specifically in basic experimental, molecular or clinical pharmacology disciplines. Graduates are able to work individually as researchers, are able to apply for a grant to national or even international grant agencies, to publish their results in the international scientific impacted journals, to present the results of their work at an international conferences.

Graduates may find application as a university assistant in the field of pharmacology and related fields, may also find application in various positions (especially research, development, as a consultant) in the pharmaceutical industry).

  • Practical Training

The PhD student (according to the Ph.D topic) works with experimental animals or other appropriate laboratory or research methods supervised by the supervisor, later also independently.

During the course of study, the doctoral student, with the support of a supervisor, will apply for the scholarships offered for professional internships and stays relevant to the subject of the dissertation.

According to his / her possibilities and according to his / her study plan, the doctoral student participates to a limited extent in the teaching of undergraduate students of the Faculty of Medicine.

  • Goals of Theses

In the dissertation thesis the student presents the results of his work, which he / she created during his / her studies in the doctoral program. The supervisor, together with the head of the department, are responsible for providing the student with the conditions needed to meet the requirements of the doctoral program.

The student is obligated to work on the dissertation work in close cooperation with the supervisor who approves the dissertation.

The dissertation must contain original results, either already published or accepted for publication. If the student submits to the defense the results of the collective scientific work on which he has participated, the work must be clearly marked in the work. The attachment of the thesis must be the co-author's statement confirming the student's authorship and appreciating their share in the marked parts of the work.

The thesis must be submitted for defense in English. The text of the dissertation must be of good quality after the formal, grammatical and stylistic aspects. The dissertation is submitted in three copies in electronic version via IS Muni.

The dissertation thesis may also be recognized as a set of articles already published or printed or another type of publication of the work on the subject, which the student provides with a complete introduction to the subject and commentary.

The dissertation usually includes these parts
