Abstract
Autor analyzuje Karamzinovo a Ewersovo pojetí ruských dějin v kontextu dobových společenských i vědeckých okolností.
Abstract (in English)
Author deals with Karamzin’s and Ewers’ conception of Russian history. From 1818–1826 Karamzin published his magnum opus, “History of the Russian Imperial State“. His patriotic and conservative analysis corresponded to the chauvinism of Russian educated opinion in the traumatic aftermath of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. Ewers, influenced by German historiography (A. H. L. Heeren) and jurisprudence (F. C. von Savigny), described the traditional tribal structure of Russia as the foundation of Russian statehood, most notably in this 1826 monograph “Das aelteste Recht der Russen”. Paper focuses on differences and complementariness of Karamzin’s and Ewers’ works.
