Abstract
This paper discusses the broader context of parental preparation for education of children, considering two groups of problems: 1. What is the current interpretation of the importance of family as an educational environment in the Czech pedagogical literature? 2. What basic framework of topics and content for preparation of potential and existing parents for education of children in the process of lifelong education should exist? Next the results of research were presented.
