Abstract

Eines der wichtigsten Ziele der europäischen Mehrsprachigkeitspolitik ist es, dass die Bevölkerung Kenntnisse in mindestens zwei Fremdsprachen erwirbt. Um diese Ziele zu erreichen, muss jeder Staat auch seine Fremdsprachenunterrichspolitik entsprechend ausformulieren und garantieren. Der Beitrag bietet einen kurzen Exkurs in die Geschichte des Fremdsprachenunterrichts an tschechischen Schulen sowie einen kritischen Blick auf den Ist-Stand der tschechischen Mehrsprachigkeitspolitik in Fragen des Fremdsprachenlernens.

Abstract (in Czech)

Jedním z nejdůležitějších cílů evropské politiky mnohojazyčnosti je, aby každý občan Evropské unie měl znalosti alespoň dvou cizích jazyků na různé úrovni. Aby bylo možno tohoto cíle dosáhnout, je zapotřebí, aby každý stát svou jazykovou vzdělávací politiku garantoval na odpovídající úrovni. Příspěvek nabízí krátký exkurs do historie cizojazyčného vzdělávání na českých školách a kritický pohled na současný stav české politiky v oblasti podpory mnohojazyčnosti.

Abstract (in English)

One of the main goals of the European multilingualism policy is to support the acquisition of at least two foreign languages by every European citizen. In order to achieve this goal, each country must accordingly adapt its policy of foreign language teaching. The paper provides a brief excursion into history and the actual state of foreign language teaching in Czech schools. It takes a critical look at the Czech multilingualism policy in matters of foreign language learning.
