V originále

O mundo ficcional de Lygia Fagundes Telles é concentrado na caracterizacao das personagens, notavelmente das femininas. Na obra da autora podemos encontrar mulheres de todas as idades e de todas as classes sociais cujo mosaico cria a mulher moderna, a mulher universal. As personagens masculinas parecem desempenhar somente papéis acessórios. O objectivo desta comunicacao será mostrar que existem narrativas curtas que oferecem uma perspectiva diferente quanto ao papel das figuras masculinas. Nestes contos o homem adquire uma posicao mais forte porque se torna coprotagonista das mulheres, assim, a sua característica recebe amplitude e profundeza, o que resulta no equilíbrio entre o mundo feminino e masculino produzindo personagens ainda mais vívidas e realísticas.

This article focuses on structure of male characters in short stories written by Lygia Fagundes Telles, a famous Brazilian writer who is said to underestimate the role of male characters in favor of female ones. The analysis of three characters – Manuel, Tomás and Ricardo who are the protagonists of three short stories included in the book called "Antes do baile verde" - wants to show this author s interest and capability to create round and dynamic male characters. As a base of characters construction L.F. Telles chooses oppositional features toward to female figures.
