Abstract
Abstract (in English)
The issue of multilingualism in the EU has been recently enjoying an increasing attention of researchers in the area of sociolinguistics. As a result of integrating and globalizing trends, the frequency of contacts between groups speaking different languages is rising as well, which brings about new patterns of interaction and new contact situations. The article is a critical review of an edited collection of some up-to-date sociolinguistic research in the area of multilingualism, carried out in several European countries.
