Abstract

Studie je věnována ikonografickému programu barokní kabinetní skříně ze sbírek Valašského muzea v přírodě v Rožnově pod Radhoštěm. Její bohatá umělecká výzdoba byla provedena technikou reliéfní intarzie, která byla v 17. a 18. století typická pro specializované chebské dílny. Tematicky byla výzdoba inspirována rytinami francouzského rytce Jacquesa Callota se satirou pošetilosti světa, a její součástí je rovněž motiv, vycházející ze soudobé habsburské obrazové propagandy z období válek o španělské dědictví, s portréty francouzského krále Ludvíka XIV., pretendenta trůnu Filipa z Anjou a personifikací smrti, jejichž protějškem je jejich habsburský císař Leopold I. a bůh války Mars.

Abstract (in English)

The study deals with the iconography of the Baroque cabinet from the collection of the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Its rich pictorial decoration was made by means of the specific carving technique of relief marquetry, which was typical for specialised workshops operating in Cheb/Eger in the 17th and 18th centuries. The work is counted amng the oeuvre of Johann Karl Haberstupf. Thematically, the decoration is based on patterns of the French engraver Jacques Callot, representing a satire on the topic of the follies of the world, and the composition is crowned with a relief with a motif derived from Habsburg pictorial propaganda dating back to the period of the war of the Spanish Succession, with a portrayal of the French king Louis XIV., accompanied by the pretender of Spanish throne Philip, the Duke of Anjou, and the personification of Death, whose counterpart is Leopold I., Holy Roman Emperor, accompanied by the god of War Mars.
