The need to train skillful speakers of English has increased in recent years, partly as a result of the worldwide dominance of English as the global lingua franca and its status as the major language of communication in the EU. This has led to the unparalleled proliferation of the ESP field over the past two decades, which is also reflected in the rising number of textbooks in various domains of ESP. This article is a critical review of a recent textbook of legal English that is aimed at law practitioners.

Dominantní pozice angličtiny coby globálního komunikačního kódu a jednoho z oficiálních jazyků EU vede k rapidnímu nárůstu potřeby odborného vzdělávání v angličtině. Na poli ESP se tak v poslední době vydává stále větší počet publikací. Tento článek je kritickou recenzí moderní učebnice právní angličtiny, která je zaměřena na odborníky z praxe.
