Kukuřice je jedna z nejdůležitějších světových plodin. Spolu s rýží a pšenicí je hlavní živitelkou světové populace. Skupina vědců z největšího genomického centra na světě - čínské organizace BGI - ve spolupráci s dalšími mezinárodními institucemi nedávno publikovala své výsledky studia genomu kukuřice.

Corn is one of the world's most important crops. Along with rice and wheat is the main breadwinner of the world population. A group of scientists from the largest genomics center in the world - Chinese organization BGI - in cooperation with other international institutions recently published the results of their study of the maize genome.
